Alright, as I said in the post on MY journal, I'm not taking sides, I'm not saying who was right, who was wrong.... people've already tried and that led nowhere, so I just hope this whole debate dies where it stands. It's stupid, counterproductive, and making enemies of each other.
At any rate, it seems to me that, at least for the time being, Visions has released primary development ownership of the LJ_Win32 client, so I am temporarily picking it up until somebody more experienced wants to take it off my hand. I'd take control myself, but I am JUST learning C++ now so my ability to do alot with the application is limited. Visions, I'd welcome any insight into the program privately if you'd be willing to offer it. I already took a poll on my journal to see what everybody wants for new features and it's given me something to work off of. I know you're busy, being a UIUC senior and all. My best friend is a Senior there too, and I know how bloody busy HE is, so it's probably in your best interest to get this off your plate for now. I still would value your ideas though, so grab my email from my journal info and send anything my way.
My immediate concern with the client is one major fix: to put in a fail-safe that backs up whatever entry you're working on incase of a crash. Shouldn't be TOO hard, IMO, and once I get that fixed, I'll release a version with that in it. From there on out, it's just a matter of how fast I pick up VC++, or if I start getting more experienced assistance.
Again.... my concern is LJ itself. I'm not going to get involved in any fights, let me make that clear right now.
