Some questions corresponding database architecture

Hi everyone.

Could someone tell me in brief how does in the LJ databases the following items are stored?

• Tags for posts. How does one could easily select from DB entries with some defined tag?
• Data corresponding who is the friends of whom.

I'm creating web project with some features that LJ also has, so these answers would make me a great help.
