Meme + XML-RPC = Headache

If you watch lj_nifty much, you've probably seen how much frustration and confusion my last two memes have caused. I'm not sure if you guys want to keep memes from banging on the XML-RPC service, as I doubt much of that data can be effectively cached within storage requirements, but it would make life a lot easier if there were a global JavaScript MD5 function or a script to redirect form data for remote processing after hashing a field; CPAN already has modules to handle the majority of the work involved here, and a manual hack without CPAN would no doubt be reasonably simple anyway.

If this sort of thing would be acceptable, I'd be more than happy to work on it, as helping with this would require much less effort than continuing to answer the questions and complaints...
