Syndicating comments

I'm interested in syndicating my main journal using the LJ RSS grabber. However, I've also written my own commenting system - so is it possible for those to be syndicated too? Or would I be best served by writing a custom handler that automagically posted comments on my website to LJ? I'd rather not do that, because as far as I can forsee it would be a one-way process.
