i know a fair amount of programming and i can run a server, my one problem is that i'm not sure exactly how to download the source and upload/set it up on a server.. i have access to both *nix and win32 servers and i'm wondering if the lj system will run on *nix/win32 or if it has to be bsd/etc..

any help would be appreciated. im interested in starting a journal site.
