access control on embedded journals

Hey people,

I'm Bryan and I have an question/idea. I know that the LJ coders and admins have way more ideas than they can handle, but I just wanted to throw this out there.

I am embedding my journal into my website, which requires people to log in to see everything. There are certain people (aka, my parents) that I don't want seeing certain stuff. However, anyone can still read my journal through the site. I'd like to make certain entries friends-only (and request them from my webserver using a secondary lj account), but customview.cgi doesn't support filtering entries. I'd be willing to try to implement any changes to this (just gotta learn PERL first, etc). Anyways, just tell me if I'm full of it, or whatever...
