|The ljcom repo, and the perils of /trunk/htdocs/stc/gizmo.

I want to keep up-to-date with the ljcom code for various reasons (not going to be using it in my own public installations, don't worry, just wanting to be able to use it for various things), but I've been stymied from checking out the whole repo because of the presence of the /trunk/htdocs/stc/gizmo directory, which contain some huge binaries for Gizmo/LJ Talk. I'm not interested in these at all, but according to FreeNode/#svn, there's no way to get svn to ignore things on the server.
I was wondering if it would be possible for devs to move this directory elsewhere? It would probably make the lives of people like me a lot easier, and svn's history tracking wouldn't really do much good with binaries; it would be more efficient to have these files in a normal form anyway.
I expect that during a live push the contents of this repo are just exported to the live site - if that's the case, it should be easy enough to move the files into another repo and have that exported at the same time in the push script. Of course, I don't know whether this is something that would be wanted or not.
I'm interested in hearing any comments people have, LJ devs or otherwise.
