I notice that LJ is adding the following to all journal views, and has been for some time:
<meta name="googlebot" content="nosnippet" />
I assume that this is what is causing Google not to show cached copies of journal pages and not to show the summary on the search results page. What's the point of this? The summary and cache (with highlight) are very useful for finding the relevant part of a large page which has lots of unrelated parts, and that's exactly what journal pages are like. Search results that don't provide it are annoying.
