Bug that's still not fixed... [Mar. 18th, 2003|10:24 pm]
LiveJournal Development

Earlier today I pointed out in a comment that HTML comment notification e-mails have a bad link in them.

Instead of "at the webpage" linking to:
it is linking to:

While I'd love to take the time to figure out how to fix it myself, I'm sure someone else could get it fixed much quicker.

lucretio pointed me to the ChangeLog post. Sorry about that! It works now!

Friend Groups on clients [Mar. 18th, 2003|10:39 pm]
LiveJournal Development

(I posted this the other day to lj_clients, but got no response. So I thought I'd try here -- at the very least, I'm hoping someone can point me to a place where I can find the answer if they don't have the answer itself.)

I have a rather interesting problem that I'm wondering if anyone out there has run into: deleting a friend group and adding another completely hoses my client.

Say I have 5 groups. I delete group 3 and add one. Now, in my client, I try to post to a specific group. Nothing works.

Some testing with the ?filter=x portion of the friends page URL revealed something interesting: http://pyran.livejournal.com/friends?filter=2 brings up a quasi-error message ("There are a few reasons why you might not see posts on this friends page..."), but only when I'm logged in -- when I'm not logged in, or when someone else views the page, they get my friends page. Now in my tests, I did, in fact, delete the first group. But this implies that when I'm logged in, I have no first friend group. My "first" group (the one listed on the groups page in LJ) appears to have an allowmask of 4. This is a problem for me when attempting to build the allowmask.

Has anyone else run into this? And if so, know of any workarounds? Any help is greatly appreciated.
