Odd HTTP error [Dec. 3rd, 2001|11:42 am]
LiveJournal Development

I went to http://www.ana.livejournal.com/ (because ana had a wrong link on her mailing), and I got this message:

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

Obviously this name doesn't exist as a virtual host, but maybe it should say so, but maybe that's what it's trying to do with the ErrorDocument part?

LINK tags on talkread.bml [Dec. 3rd, 2001|12:33 pm]

If I go to a protected entry which I don't have permission to view, there aren't LINK tags in the header (for instance, check out this page) to allow going on past that entry. Is there a good reason for this? (i.e. are protected entries in a separate table that would incur a performance hit to benefit only 2% of users?) Or is it just a bug?

hi :) [Dec. 3rd, 2001|02:13 pm]

[mood |blankblank]

Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself. Been using LJ for about a year and a half now. Anyway, back to my question:

Now not sure this has been discussed, but I tried looking around the site for information on it, so don't flame me please :)

Has anyone started developing the server code for different platforms other than BML? ie, ASP or PHP? I just had a thought that it might be worth doing (or might not). I haven't given it much thought but I'm guessing that it shouldn't be that hard to get a working basic version of allowing posts/viewing etc...

Any suggestions?

Favicon.ico [Dec. 3rd, 2001|09:06 pm]

I just noticed the LJ favorite icon doesn't show if you go to any non www.livejournal.com web page.

show's the icon just fine, but

doesn't. Is this something that could be fixed? Seems likes a simple symlink would fix it, but I'm not sure how the file structure is laid out.
