Birthday Reminders / Daylight Savings Time

I'm not sure where this sort of thing should go. I just noticed it today, so I'll post it and see if anyone out there see's it as a error and can fix it if it is.

I received two birthday reminders in my email today for the same user. They were sent at the following times:

Sun, 28 Oct 2001 01:11:42 -0700 (PDT)
Sun, 28 Oct 2001 01:13:19 -0800 (PST)

My guess is that the birthday reminders are set to automatically be sent around 1:00am. Since daylight savings time occurred last night, the server clocks probably set themselves back an hour, from 2am to 1am. So I think the birthday reminders were sent out twice.

If this is the case, my suggestion is to put in a check for the occurrence of daylight savings time clock adjustments before sending out the birthday reminders. Thus, the birthday reminders wouldn't be sent out twice.

Like I said, I'm not sure if this was an actual "bug" or if it was just some random odd coincidence. Others out there will certainly be more knowledgeable than I.

private comments

Perhaps an idea would be for comments to be able to made private?

I.E. If you make an entry "friends only" to read, only people on your friends lists can read it. But lets say a friend makes a comment to you and you want to put a private answer on it that only they can read.

As far as I know, this isn't possible right now.
I think it would be handy, however.

Although I suppose the counter-argument could be made that email could accomplish the same idea. But if you wanted say 3 people to be able to read the comments, instead of all your friends, then it seems feasible for that purpose for the private comments to be useful.

Opinions?
