Linux kernel experts?

I'm idly wondering if any one of the readers here have some significant experience with the current linux kernels.

Enough to help tell us of useful things... Such as how well the page caches will be used with 11G of free memory. Also, we hit a problem where we didn't realize there was a 2G size limit per process, and don't know if there are any workarounds for a pidly 32-bit system. We'd like to be aware of any other similar things we might hit. I will be doing a lot of research for this stuff, but it would be nice if someone could just tell me everything :)
