What is the maximum length of a post?

And what is that based on? The size of the field in the database?

Hi there, I'm considering writing an lj app but I'm curious about one thing:

As I see it, all the livejournal protocol request modes pretty much require you to provide a user name and password and then the modes are a function of your account.

Besides that, is there any reason why getfriends shouldn't allow you to list the friends of other users besides the account you log in as? This would be a useful for me. I don't know if it would be for other people.

Why doesn't a poll tell you before you fill it out once that you need to log in?

Did a recent CVS commit break LJ? [Oct. 11th, 2001|07:04 pm]

Update: I've found a way to make this work, because there's a bug in the default code in load_user_props Please read this thread.

I just did a fresh cvs update from the server, dropped and re-created my database, and I constantly get:

Error
User system has messed up their journal template definition.

when I try to go to my /users/system (or any user for that matter) page

Any thoughts on why this is happening? I've also done a full restart of my server. Prior to this, I was developing just fine, and I can't continue with the file attachment code until I can get my personal goathack box up and running. Thanks.

Hey people,

I'm Bryan and I have an question/idea. I know that the LJ coders and admins have way more ideas than they can handle, but I just wanted to throw this out there.
