Heh.

Just noticed the option "Don't use fast servers" is in the livejournal (non-ljcom-specific) CVS... :o)

So in other words, any site will have that option, and it's not going to do anything probably. Just thought I'd tell someone; just noticed that.

Hi there. Just joined this community.

I'm here because I've started today (specifically, now) making a mIRC client for me. I know there is already mart's one. But I want to make one myself. And, if it comes nicely, I'll let you see it and we see if we could do something. :) So, I joined here to get suggestions and developing help.

The reason for my post is to ask you something: what's with the test account? I was testing my client with it, then, about 5mins later, the password was different. Has someone changed it?

-> POST /cgi-bin/log.cgi HTTP/1.0

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Fri, 20 Jul 2001 10:51:45 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.19 (Unix) balanced_by_mod_backhand/1.1.1pre5 mod_fastcgi/2.2.10
Content-length: 49

Oh yeah, and are there more test accounts available or is it more convenient if I use mine for my tests?

Could one or more people with fairly fresh Unix machines check out the latest documentation from CVS and try to install LJ from the instructions given in doc/INSTALL.txt?

Let me know of anything I forgot to include or anything that's just plain wrong.

low cost terabytes

pay attention to the raid5 + reiserfs stats. they are good at proving the point that i had stated earlier on raid discussions. raid5 writes can be fast.

no flames intended or desired. just a heads up on viability and ide drives.

Small change in talkpost_do.bml. Replying to comments in e-mail should work again.
Tell me if it doesn't.

I took the user feedback I got and integrated it into this release.

- Added a feature so I can demo this using my account information. This allows people to see how it works without using their LJ account.

- Added the display of the last 3 userpics that updated to the new friends page.

Try *MY ACCOUNT'S* Check Friends 0.2 (no login required. This lets you see updates on morbid_angel's friends list weeee)

What's a reasonable way to fetch the users pics... as in /userpic/123123

Some sort of prop would be neat. This would allow us to have the luser select a pic rather than just the name. This reminds me that pics without names should be given their pic number or something and that it needs to require a name "from now on". I get mail asking why people can't select one of their pics and answering "because you didn't give it a name" seems.. lame (and time consuming), since they think it's a client issue.

So, I was thinking a way would be to do something like allpics.bml or whatever and filter out all of the useless html to get the image file number or something really stupid like that. Please make the voice in my head stop!
