Friends View... Lastn View

Is there a simple way via the URL (read: GET) to limit the number of entries that your friends page, or your lastn page shows? Like a simple URL overide? I'm thinking something to the effect of www.livejournal.com/users/test/friends/?show=5 or something like that. Or is it too tied into the style system to do that?
