spamscore 10/10

I get the emails to let me know that someone has replied to my post. In the past several months, I noticed that suddenly, my emails from LJ started receiving a spam score of 10/10 just as I was about to turn on the filtering. What could be causing the high score? Is there anything that can be done to improve the spam score, so I can turn on filtering? I would be happy to help in this effort, if there is something I can do. In the back of my mind, I keep thinking, "could this be from the denial of service flooding?"
